TALLAHASSEE, Fla., December 29, 2019 – Kicking off a four-game trip in Florida, the Monroe College Mustangs men's basketball team fell to No. 12 Tallahassee Community College in their first contest of the week by a score of 86-75 Saturday evening in the opening contest of the Tallahassee Democrat Holiday Classic. The Mustangs fall to 10-5 overall with the loss, while the Eagles improve to 15-2 on the year.
Juan Felix Rodriguez led the Mustangs with 24 points in the game, adding four rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.
Zion Styles added 17 points, five rebounds and two steals.
Luis Herrera picked up 11 points and five boards, also grabbing two steals.
Jabari Merritt and
Julio Pascual both totaled eight points, while
Tobias Perkovic led the team with seven rebounds.
The Mustangs will look to bounce back on Sunday, Dec. 29, when they wrap up the first half of their Florida trip with a matchup against Pensacola State College as part of the Tallahassee Democrat Holiday Classic. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
