HERKIMER, N.Y., January 26, 2019 – The Monroe College Mustangs JV men's basketball team registered its highest scoring total of the season on Saturday en route to a 109-70 road victory over Herkimer County Community College JV. With the win, the Mustangs improve to 12-6 overall on the season.
Javandre House led the Mustangs with 14 points and five assists on the afternoon. Joans Gjeci matched his 14 points and added a team-high six rebounds.
Javaughn Daniel added 11 points with five boards, while
Aaron Burton picked up 10 points on the day.
The Mustangs wrap up their trip upstate on Sunday, Jan. 27, when they visit New York International Academy in Binghamton, N.Y. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 27 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
