NEWPORT, R.I, February 3, 2018 – The Monroe Mustangs' JV men's basketball team fell to Navy Prep, 66-55, on Saturday.
Monroe trailed 33-25 at the half, and though they cut the deficit by five in the second half, the Mustangs' fell, 66-55 to the Rams.
Brian Kennedy led the Mustangs with 13 points, while
Rakim Bryant added 11 points.
Christopher Davis led the Mustangs with 11 rebounds, including four on the offensive glass.
With the loss, the Mustangs drop to 13-10 on the season.
The Mustangs return to the Monroe Athletic Complex after a seven-game road trip to take on Metro BDA on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 8 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of Monroe's Bronx campus has six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning with their inaugural seasons in the fall of 2017.
