CRANFORD, N.J., January 26, 2018 – The Monroe College women's basketball team dropped a 67-54 decision to Union County College on the road Thursday evening. The Mustangs fall to 13-9 on the season with the loss, while Union County improves to 17-3.
Amani Williams led the Mustangs with 17 points while also dishing out three assists.
Shanice Graves contributed 12 points, while
Phyness Baldwin added another 10.
Lisana Burnett picked up six points, a team-high seven rebounds, four steals, two blocks and two assists.
The Mustangs will play next on Monday, Feb. 12, when they host Manor College at the Monroe Athletic Complex. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level as of the fall 2017 season.
