No. 10 Monroe Women’s Soccer Falls to No. 14 ASA

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., September 29, 2017 – The No. 10 Monroe College women's soccer team fell to No. 14 ASA College, 4-0, Friday evening in Region XV action at City Park.
 
ASA got on the board first on Friday when Estelle Badoadana scored off an assist from Asako Ideue, taking a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute. The Avengers doubled the lead at the 32:08 when Tamara Queiroz scored with a shot in the box. Queiroz added one more with 33 seconds left in the half to give ASA a 3-0 lead at the break. The Avengers made it a 4-0 game early in the second half when Sara Quevada scored at the 47:27 mark.
 
The Mustangs will look to bounce back on Sunday, Oct. 1, when they host CCBC-Essex at City Park. The game is set to kick off at 2 p.m.
 
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, will have six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning in the fall of 2017.
