New Rochelle, N.Y. – The Monroe College Men's Basketball team ended its three-game losing streak Tuesday night, after a late rally lifted the Mustangs to an 89-67 victory over Hostos Community College.
Jarron Chapman scored a game-high 19 points.

After
Hampus Ahlin opened the game with a three-pointer, Monroe fell behind. The Caimans jumped out to a nine-point lead, making the score 17-8 with 13:05 on the clock. Monroe cut the deficit to three on buckets from
Tyler Ancrum,
Felix Carlsson, and
Clifton Tracey. They took the lead when Ahlin turned a defensive rebound into a fast break and found Chapman for a dunk. By the half, they led 37-28.

bucket that put Monroe up 11 points early in the second half. Hostos got as close as six points before the Mustangs took control in the final ten minutes of action. Monroe went on to win, 89-67.

The Mustangs shot 55.2% from the field. Chapman came off the bench to shoot 8-11 for his 19 points.
Dani Koljanin also made 6-of-7 shots in a reserve role. Ahlin scored 15, and Ancrum finished with 10. The team is now 19-10 on the season, and will return to action on Thursday against LaGuardia Community College. That game will serve as the Sophomore Night, and the five sophomores will be honored prior to tip off.
