New Rochelle, N.Y. – The Monroe College JV Basketball team fell to CNC Leadership Academy, 73-65, on Tuesday. The loss brings the team's record down to 11-15 on the season.
The game was back and forth over the first 6:30 of game time. Eventually CNC pulled ahead and led at the half, 33-20. The lead got up to 15 points in the second half before Monroe rallied.
Kaynaan Longley threw down a dunk on a fast break, and
James Brady followed with a steal and layup that brought the lead down to 11 points. An
Anthony Fakoya jumper with 4:00 left pulled the team within eight points, at 57-49.
Brian Kennedy scored the final five points for Monroe. The team ultimately lost by eight.
Andre Morgan led the team with 13 points, while Brady led with nine rebounds. Longley scored a career-high eight points in the game.
Mahmadou Fofana also finished with eight points.
The Monroe College JV Basketball team will return to action on Thursday, February 23rd, against Bronx Community College.
