New Rochelle, N.Y. – The Monroe College Men's Basketball team got some strong efforts from several players, but came up short in a pair of contests at Harcum College and Essex County College over the weekend. The Mustangs fell to Harcum, 69-66, and lost to Essex County, 80-64.
Christopher Burkley and
Tyler Ancrum led Monroe in scoring against Harcum with ten points each. Ancrum also had seven assists, while Burkley shot 5-of-7 in the game. Additionally,
Jeremy Betjol fell just shy of a double-double, totaling eight points and eight rebounds.
Against Essex County,
Felix Carlsson shot 4-of-6 for 11 points, while
Dani Koljanin,
Bryan Assie, and
Clifton Tracey each finished with ten.
Damont Kearse Jr. scored ten off the bench. Ancrum chipped in with five assists.
The team is now 18-10 on the season, and will return to action on Tuesday, February 21st, in a home game against Hostos Community College at 6:00 PM.
