Harrisburg, Pa. – The Monroe College JV Basketball team improved its record back to the .500 mark (7-7) with a 70-53 victory over Harrisburg Area CC on Sunday. The team had three-players reach double-figures in scoring.
The Mustangs had a strong first half, starting the second one with 32-18 on the scoreboard. Monroe used a 14-1 run to open the game to help build the lead. The points came from
Andre Morgan,
Michael-Roy Miller and
Kenwyn Christian. A free throw by Christian at 3:16 gave the Mustangs their largest lead of the half, 15 points.
A basket by
Nolen Irby barely two minutes into the second half put the score at 38-18, giving the Mustangs their largest lead of the game. HACC fought back, but the Mustangs went on to win, 70-53.
In the victory, Christian had a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds.
James Brady totaled 18 with seven assists and four steals. Irby had 10.
The Monroe College JV basketball team returns to action on Thursday, January 19, when they host Prestige Prep at 7:00 pm in the MAC.
