New Rochelle, N.Y. – The pint sized, undermanned, Monroe College women's basketball team had just six players in action for its contest against ASA on Monday night. The team played hard, but fell to the Avengers, 119-46 in a game played at the Monroe Athletic Complex in New Rochelle.
The Mustangs actually led in the game early on as Camilia Kilinc found
Destini Green who buried a three-pointer to opening the scoring in the game. A minute later,
Gabrielle Jubinville buried a free throw and Monroe led 4-1. ASA took control from there and went on for a 119-46 win.
Breanna Dennis and Kilinc led the Mustangs with 11 points each. Jubinville also scored ten points.
Monroe falls to 4-12 with the loss. The team returns to action Thursday, January 7, when they travel to Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to face Harcum College at 7:00 PM.
