New Rochelle, N.Y. – The Monroe College junior varsity basketball team defeated Post University, 98-54, in a game played at the Monroe Athletic Complex on Monday. The Mustangs have won five-of-six and boast an overall record of 5-2.
Leading the way for Monroe was sophomore guard, Azmi Abu-Ahmad. The Nazareth, Israel, product finished with 20 points on 9-14 shooting. He added eight rebounds and three steals. The high scorer for Monroe was
Jason Barrera. He came off the bench to make 10-14 attempts and total 23 points.
Justin Wilson missed just one shot, en route to going 9-10 and totaling 19 points.
The Monroe College junior varsity basketball team returns to action on Saturday, December 5, when they travel to Newport, Rhode Island to face Navy Prep. The start time is 2:00 PM. This is a rematch of a game played on November 21 in New Rochelle that the Midshipmen won.
