New Rochelle, N.Y. – The Monroe College junior varsity basketball team routed Vaughn College 91-26, in a game played at the Monroe Athletic Complex in New Rochelle on Thursday.  The score was back-and-forth early on before The Mustangs pulled away for the easy win.
 
The Mighty Mustangs Marching Band made an appearance and got the raucous crowd on their feet with their high flying style.  From there, the team took over and provided the rest of the highlights in the win.  The score was tied at 4-4 at the 15:19 mark.  From there, Monroe used a 28-6 run to take a 32-6 lead and not look back from there.  The scoring spree was capped when Antoine Lewis found Jason Barrera for a layup.  Five Mustangs finished in double-figures in the game.
 
The Monroe College junior varsity returns to action on Saturday, December 12, when they host New York International Academy.  The tip-off is slated for 2:00 PM.
