The Monroe Mustangs women's soccer team saw their poll numbers rise on the heels of their weekend defeat of the nation's former #1 team, Darton College.  Monroe had been at #4, but the win convinced pollsters that Monroe should be placed at #3.  A day after the win in Georgia, they went out and handily defeated Louisburg (NC) 3-0.  The Mustangs record stands at 9-1 on the season.

Sophomore defender Lorina White got the scoring going in the twelfth minute with a goal off an assist by sophomore Samantha Mendez.  

After that it was 'Ana Carol time' as Ana Carol Rodrigues put in an assist from sophomore Melanie Formosa in the eighteenth minute and then in the 45th minute, she notched a penality kick.  The sophomore sensation is twelfth in the nation and leads the team in goals with 14.  She's 15th in points, 11th in shots, and 14th in shots-on-goal.

Monroe will be home against Harford on Saturday, October 18 at 1:00pm and they'll play a homecoming showdown against ASA on Friday, October 24 at 12:00pm.  If Monroe wins or ties that one they'll be Region champions for the third-straight time.
