Assistant Coach - women's volleyball
Coach Gomez came to Monroe for the 2014 season with a world of volleyball coaching and playing experience under her belt. She was a scholarship volleyball player for each of her four years as an undergrad at Florida A and M. While there she won two sportsmanship awards and All-Tournament mentions. Along the way, even while a student, she worked as an assistant coach.
She also coached at Manhattanville where she earned her MS degree in Sports Business and was an assistant at North Florida Volleyball Academy.
An active cross-fitter, Coach Gomez also plays volleyball in New York semi-pro leagues.
“I believe in helping student-athletes succeed,” she says. “My lifelong philosophy is to make a difference in other people’s lives and here at Monroe it’s something I’m completely dedicated to.”
