Steve Burnstin was born and raised in Seattle, Washington where he began playing soccer at the age of five. Throughout his playing career he was involved with many club and tournament championships in Seattle, New York City, and abroad. His coaching career began at age 19 and he has dedicated himself to improving his coaching skills and his depth of knowledge, attaining national and regional coaching licenses.

Burnstin believes that a good coach never stops learning and is always receptive to new ideas. Each player is different as is each team and a good coach adapts practice-by-practice, game-by-game, and season-by-season. Burnstin brings passion and intensity and imparts hard work, discipline, and dedication to his players.

After moving to New York City and obtaining his Juris Doctor, Burnstin continued his coaching career in Harlem and the South Bronx eventually joining the Monroe College coaching staff in 2010. He plans on continuing to ensure that Monroe College is and remains a national power house and a soccer program where young women can be challenged, improve, mature, and win.

Coach Burnstin resides in New Rochelle, N.Y., with his wife and daughter.
