Stacey Townsend

Stacey Townsend enters her first season at Monroe College as Head Coach of Women's Basketball aftter a very successful second season as the women's basketball head coach at Essex County College last year.

Essex began their season under Townsend on a 9-0 run and finished with an overall record of 28-7, going on to win the regular season conference title, GSAC Conference title, District N Championship, and earning a #13 seed to the National Tournament. After finishing the national tournament 2-2, the team finish the season ranked 6th in the country.

Coach Townsend was named District N Coach of the Year. She coached three all-conference players, one All-National Tournament Team honoree and one All-American. All four graduating sophomores have gone on to continue their careers competing at the NCAA level.
 
Prior to coaching at Essex County College, Coach Townsend was an assistant coach at her Alma Mater, Columbia High School in Maplewood,NJ where she was in charge of coaching the freshman team. She began coaching AAU when she finished her playing career at Seton Hall University in 2002 where she was a 2-year starter and a 4-year letter winner.
 
Stacey is a native of South Orange, New Jersey and she currently resides in Newark, New Jersey with her son, Joseph.
