Jet'e Griffin joined the Monroe College women’s basketball team as an assistant coach prior to the 2019-20 season.
Since September 2013, Griffin has been a youth basketball coach at Abundant Waters Afterschool Program.
Griffin has a long history of basketball in her life. She began playing the game at just five years old. She started her career at A. Phillip Randolph High School, where she played her junior and senior years. As a junior, she averaged 14 points per game. That average increased to 23 points per game as a senior, as well as 9.9 rebounds per game.
While playing for the Monroe College women’s basketball team, Griffin won both a regional and district championship in the 2013-14 season. Unfortunately, her career was shortened by a knee injury in her sophomore year.
Griffin graduated from Monroe College in August 2014 with her associate's degree in business administration. She then continued on to St. John’s University on an academic scholarship. As a “Johnny” she accumulated a 3.5 GPA and earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management in May 2018. After college, Griffin started her coaching career with York College women’s basketball as an assistant coach.
