Jobse Reyes

Reyes enters his sixth year as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Monroe University ). In 2026 the Mustangs  are currently in their first year participating on the NCAA D2 level, Coach Reyes has deep roots in New York City basketball. He’s a former collegiate player and elite player development coach, Reyes specializes on in-game development, advanced scouting, and recruitment.

Monroe University Coaching Highlights (2021 – Present)
During his five-year tenure on the NJCAA D1 level, Reyes has helped maintain the program's status as a national junior college powerhouse. His contributions to game strategy, recruiting, and athlete advancement have driven elite team and individual success:

    •    Championship Records: Assisted the varsity program to a 131–33 overall record over five seasons.
    •    Postseason Success: Helped lead the Mustangs to three NJCAA North-East District Championships and three NJCAA National Tournament appearances (2023, 2025, and 2026).
    •    NCAA Advancement: Recruited, developed, and mentored more than 20 student-athletes who secured full scholarships to NCAA Division I and Division II programs upon graduation.

Background & Player Development
A Bronx native, Reyes has a proven history of competitive success. He won back-to-back PSAL 4A Championships (2010 and 2011) at Madison Square Garden and was part of the number 1 team in the state of NY that ranked 17th nationally in 2011 that also competed in back to back state championships (2010 & 2011) during his high school career before playing collegiately for Lehman College. He was part of the #1 ranked team in CUNY in 2016 while at Lehman College.

Beyond his collegiate coaching duties, Reyes is an active figure in the basketball community. He is the founder of Straight Reps Player Development , a private basketball training platform focused on elite skill development that has been operating in the NY-NJ for 10 years. He regularly collaborates with premier grassroots organizations, recently coaching at New Heights Youth Inc., to mentor, train prospective high school and circuit athletes.
