Matt Ali joined the Monroe College football staff in September 2020. He comes to Monroe after two years as an assistant at his alma mater, Hartwick College, where he coached the wtide receivers, tight ends and was special teams coordinator in 2019. During the 2019 season he coached a receiving corps that featured 5 players with 30+ receptions. He also coached TE Jack Steinman to a Second-Team All-Conference selection that season. Coach Ali also served as the academic coordinator, video coordinator and JV offensive coordinator during his time at Hartwick.
Prior to coaching at Hartwick, Ali coached one season at Castleton University, where he was tasked with coaching the outside linebackers. He also served as the video coordinator for the Spartans.
Ali graduated from Hartwick in 2016 with bachelor’s degree in business administration, and was a two-year captain of the football team. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in childhood education at Monroe College.
