Franchesco is a coaches dream to work with, a gritty player who works incredibly hard and leaves it all on the field. A multiple-sport athlete in high school, Franchesco excelled at both baseball and football at New Hyde Park HS. As a freshman (New Hyde Park HS- grades seventh through 12th) he was promoted to the varisty baseball team after only half a season at the junior versity level. In 2012, going into his senior year he was named to Long Island' baseball magazine top 100 players (both Nassau and Suffolk Counties, as voted on by the coaches). Franchesco currently holds multiple school records including most runs scored, rbi, and stolen bases in a season as well as career records for most homeruns, runs scored and stolen bases.

- Played six years at the high school varsity level (baseball- six years) (football - five years)
- Named to the Nassau County All-County team (three years for baseball & two years for football)
- Earned All-League honors (both baseball and football)
- Recipient of the 2010 John Calo award (for most defensive points points on the team)
