Jefferson Infante joined the Monroe College baseball team for the 2018 season as an Assistant Coach specializing in catchers.
Infante is a professional baseball instructor with over 16 years of experience teaching players from all levels of baseball. He is currently an independent scout for a Sports Agency in Florida that represents players from MLB, NFL, NBA, & MLS.Â
Prior to joining the Mustangs Infante served as the Assistant Coach at Baruch College for five years. Previously, Infante worked internationally, serving as the hitting/bench coach for the Grosseto professional baseball club. There Infante obtained his first professional win as interim manager in 2012. His work was recognized by Marco Mazzieri, the manager of the Italian World Baseball Classic team, and he was offered to be part of the coaching staff for the training and preparation of the team for the WBC.Â
In the Dominican Republic, Mr. Infante served as director of baseball operation for an agency, where he searched for young talent to help with skill development and first year signing bonus contracts with MLB clubsÂ
After playing collegiately at Louisburg College, D1 Globe Institution of Technology and Ramapo College, Infante was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 2004 MLB Draft and played several years in the Royal’s farm system. After two seasons with the Royals, he joined the independent playing for the St. Joseph’s Black Snakes in Missouri in the American Association League.
