Charlotte, NC – The Monroe University women's soccer team has entered the Week 5 NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer national ranking polls at No. 17 — the team's debut spot for the 2025 season.
Monroe sits at 5-0-1 on the year and following a huge road upset over then-No. 6 Monroe Community College, the writing was on the wall for the program to take the leap up to the national polls.
This is the first national ranking for the Mustangs since Week 1 of the 2024 season, which saw them open the season as the 13
th ranked team in the country. Led by head coach
Jonathan Avila in his first year at the helm, Monroe is back in familiar territory.
The season has been defined by refined competitiveness on all three levels. Monroe's defense is fierce, its midfield is poised, and its attack — headlined by freshman
Wiktoria Mikrut and her 11 goals — is feared.
The Mustangs will take on Harcum College on Friday at 1:00 pm.
