Milledgeville, GA – The Monroe University football team dropped its road matchup against No. 6 Georgia Military College on Saturday, 38-13.
The Mustangs entered the half down 21-0 and that deficit stretched to 28-0 before a 15-yard touchdown pass from freshman

Kareem Lewis then gave the Mustangs another big jolt on the ensuing Georgia Military possession, picking off the Bulldogs for a 62-yard pick-six.
However, Georgia Military responded by extending its lead further and shutting down the potential momentum shift from the Mustangs.
Monroe falls to 2-2 on the season with the road loss. It will face another ranked opponent next Saturday at 4:00 pm when the team travels to Scranton, PA, to take on No. 15 Lackawanna College.

The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
