New Rochelle, NY – Freshman
Alisha Pereira Rodriguez-Wells of the Monroe women's volleyball team and redshirt sophomore
Jashaun Amin of the Monroe football team have been named this week's Mustangs of the Week.
Pereira Rodriguez-Wells had a solid week for the Mustangs as they continued their winning streak. Now at 14 games, the freshman outside hitter played a pivotal role in keeping the streak alive, leading the team in kills in both outings this week.
The Puerto Rico native now sits in a tie atop the team's kill leaderboard for the 2025 season with fellow freshman outside hitter
Adriana Garcia. Both players have 198 kills on the year.
Amin made history in this weekend's outing versus Lackawanna — surpassing 700 career receiving yards to move into third all-time in program history. A 79-yard touchdown helped Amin achieve this milestone while also keeping Monroe within striking distance in the game.
At 729 career receiving yards, the Virginia native passed Lucas Nunez (2019), Aaron Lewis (2016-17) and Devanta Barnfield (2014-15) with his 122-yard performance against the Falcons. He now sits only behind Jevin Frett (2018-19) and wide receivers coach
Halim Dixon-King (2019-21) on the all-time list.
