New Rochelle, NY – Four Mustangs have been named Region 15 Division I Athletes of the Month for the month of August and September, the region announced over the past week.
 
Sophomore Justice Jordan (football), freshman Wiktoria Mikrut (women's soccer), Braxton Richards (men's soccer) and Emma Dedushaj (women's volleyball) earned the distinction, helping Monroe sweep the award across the four statistical sports for the fall season.
 
Jordan racked up 5.5 sacks over the first four games of the season, including a pair of two-sack performances as Monroe started off 2-2 on the year. His team-high mark has helped the Mustangs rank sixth in the country in team sacks with 26.
 
Mikrut has had a scorching start to her collegiate career with 20 goals. Prior to the beginning of October, the Poland native tallied 11 goals, including back-to-back hat tricks to end the month. Her three goals against then-No. 6 Monroe Community College led the charge in Monroe's marquee win of the 2025 season.
 
Richards played 90 minutes in a majority of his team's game in the early portion of the season, contributing on both ends of the field. With two goals and two assists, plus playing a pivotal role on the defensive end for the Mustangs, Richards has been a major spark plug for the unit.
 
Dedushaj made her mark in Monroe history with the red-hot Mustangs. The New Haven transfer moved into the top-five on the program's single-season digs leaderboard and currently, with 715, is third on the list behind Melanie Orsini (2019) and Laura Paniagua (2021).
 
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
