MELBOURNE, Fla., October 7, 2023 – The top-ranked Monroe College Mustangs men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2023 season Saturday evening at Orlando Health Stadium, dropping a 2-0 decision to No. 7 Eastern Florida State College. The Mustangs fall to 7-1-1 on the season with the loss, while the Titans improve to 9-1.

In the 61st minute, Verdirosi doubled the lead for the Titans. Mukisa Emmanuel sent a cross through traffic up to Verdirosi, who ripped off a powerful shot toward the low-right corner of the net and in, making it a 2-0 lead for the home team, a lead the Titans held onto throughout the rest of the contest.
Â
Riku Yamasaki gave up a pair of goals for the first time this season for the Mustangs, making one save to shoulder his first loss of the year. Kodai Tsuzuki made four saves to earn the shutout victory for the Titans.
