MUSTANGS DEFEAT HARCUM TO ADVANCE
Monroe advanced to the East District Semifinal after defeating Harcum College in a quarterfinal matchup at Skidelsky Field on Friday. After a scoreless first half, the Bears got on the board in the first minute of the second half. The Mustangs withstood the pressure, eventually leading to Natali Maymon tying the game up later in the half. The game was still knotted up at 1-1 through 90 minutes, sending it to overtime. The Mustangs did not need long to end it, as a Sabrina Bastos da Silva golden goal just 36 seconds into the extra period pushed Monroe into the semifinals.
