HOW WE GOT HERE:
The 2023 season saw the Mustangs face a typically challenging schedule. The Mustangs opened up the year at home and quickly went 2-0 at the Monroe College Volleyball Invitational. Monroe then spent the following week down in Florida, going 3-4 in seven matches against some of the toughest opponents in the country.

The Mustangs returned home and went 2-0 in a tri-match at the Monroe Athletic Complex before making another trip down to Florida for a similarly difficult schedule. The Mustangs unfortunately went 0-4 on their second trip down south, needing to make up some ground the rest of the way.

They did just that from mid-September until the end of the regular season. The Mustangs went on to win 11 straight matches and 33 straight sets, with the final two wins taking place in Iowa at Iowa Western Community College's Dennis South Memorial Classic, including a three-set victory over No. 18 Indian Hills Community College. Monroe's regular season concluded with a pair of close, tough losses to Hutchinson Community College and Iowa Western.

MUSTANG LEADERS
Darlenys Olivo and Gabriela Aimi Zuquelo lead Monroe's offense in 2023. Olivo is averaging 3.68 kills per set, which ranks 17th in the NJCAA this season. Zuquelo is next on the team with 2.94 kills per set. Martina Villani is handing out 7.62 assists per set this year, ranking 34th in the nation. Manon Braunsteffer ranks 52nd in the NJCAA with 0.87 blocks per set, while Ariana De Jesus is close behind her at 0.78 blocks per set. Alessia Gallo's 4.04 digs per set put her 49th in the country, while her 0.50 service aces per set rank 39th. Villani matches Gallo with 0.50 aces per set.
