NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., October 25, 2023 – The No. 12-ranked Monroe College Mustangs women's soccer team is set to host Harcum College in the quarterfinal round of the East District Championship tournament this Friday, Oct. 27, at City Park in New Rochelle.
The Mustangs enter the tournament as the East District Northern Bracket's No. 2 seed, while Friday's opponent, Harcum, is the No. 3 seed. Monroe Community College took the bracket's top seed after defeating the Mustangs during the regular season.

LAST TIME THEY MET: MONROE AT HARCUM – SEPT. 11
Monroe and Harcum went head-to-head at The Proving Grounds in Conshohocken, Pa., back on Sept. 11. The Mustangs cruised to a 4-1 victory over the Bears that day, with goals coming from
Emily Mackie,
Samara Dullabh,
Katie Neilson and
Julia Meyer. Harcum got on the board in the second half with a score from Genesis Sanchez.
Katherine Neves had two assists for Monroe, while Dullabh and
Paula Campos each had one.
MONROE TEAM LEADERS
Louise Featherstone stands as Monroe's scoring leader with 17 points and seven goals on the season. Dullabh and Neves are tied with 14 points apiece for second on the team. Neves leads the Mustangs with eight assists in nine games this season, while Dullabh is second on the team with five goals and four assists.
Three goalkeepers have played this season for Monroe, but
Natalie Dobler has made eight starts and has recorded all of Monroe's decisions, producing a 6-2-1 overall record with a pair of shutouts on the year. Dobler leads the group with a 0.60 goals-against average, as well as a .818 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Harcum is led by Norka Fergusson, who has produced 15 points with a team-high six goals in seven games. Leyla Fonseca ranks second on the team with 10 points and four goals. Fergusson is tied with Anna Panella and Freke Plompen with a team-high three assists.
Maria Alfaro has started six games in net for the Bears this season. He is 4-1-0 overall with a 0.60 goals-against average and a .250 save percentage.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 28 teams competing across nine sports. There are 20 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well the Monroe College marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I).
