ROCHESTER, N.Y., December 3, 2021 – After nearly two weeks off, the Monroe College Mustangs women's basketball team came out like a brand new team on Friday, defeating Monroe Community College, 82-47, to kickoff the weekend trip to Upstate New York. The lead reached 13 points after a layup by Daja Wentz with 2:02 to go, but the Tribunes then scored the final five points of the period, but the Mustangs took a 25-17 advantage into the second.

The Mustangs broke it open in the third by going on a 14-2 run to start the half. A three by Aysia Pink with 1:33 to go in the third frame put the visitors up, 60-34, before taking a 62-38 lead into the fourth.

The Mustangs went on another huge run to start the fourth quarter, scoring 18 straight points for a commanding 80-38 advantage. The Tribunes went on a 9-2 run to close out the game, but the Mustangs led by way too much for the home team to mount a comeback.
