TALLAHASSEE, Fla., November 20, 2021 – The Monroe College Mustangs women's basketball team dropped a 58-47 final to South Georgia Technical College on Saturday on Day 2 of the Tallahassee Classic, hosted by Tallahassee Community College. The Mustangs drop to 1-7 with the loss, while the Jets improve to 5-1.
Olivia Medford had a big day, totaling 22 points, five steals and four rebounds in the game.
Naomi Barnwell contributed six points, five boards and a pair of steals.

Amy Sangare and
Daja Wentz each matched Barnwell's five rebounds to all share the Mustang lead for the afternoon. Carvajal-Caro also had three assists to lead the team. Wentz picked up eight points off the bench, as well as a pair of assists.
The Mustangs wrap up their weekend in Tallahassee on Sunday, Nov. 21, when they take on Gulf Coast State College. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m.

The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 39 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I).
