MELBOURNE, Fla., October 3, 2021 – Two days after a thrilling late victory over Daytona State College, the No. 12-ranked Monroe College Mustangs women's soccer team was up for the challenge in a defensive battle against No. 4-ranked Eastern Florida State College, playing to a scoreless draw after two overtime periods on Sunday.
Stefane Rosa made five stops in the game for a 110-minute shutout. She moves to 6-0-2 overall with her fifth shutout in eight starts.
The Mustangs are scheduled to play next on Friday, Oct. 8, against Essex County College. Game location and time are yet to be announced.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 39 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 18 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
