WASHINGTON, D.C., December 30, 2019 – The Monroe College Mustangs women's basketball team avenged an early-season loss to Cecil College on Sunday by defeating the Seahawks, 66-41, to take fifth place at the National Title IX Holiday Invitational. The Mustangs improve to 7-8 overall with the win, while the Seahawks fall to 5-6.

Cheyenne Talbot led the way with 19 points in the win.
India Keene added 10 points.
Maya Crimes and
Daja Wentz followed with eight points apiece.
Devon Adams totaled seven points, while
ToniRenee Blanford picked up six.
The Mustangs have wrapped up the 2019 portion of their schedule and will play next in January. They will compete in the Community College of Rhode Island Classic in Warwick, R.I., on Jan. 11-12.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I).
