NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., September 30, 2017 – The No. 2 Monroe College men's soccer team defeated SUNY Ulster on Saturday by a score of 13-0 at City Park. The Mustangs remain undefeated on the season, improving to 9-0-1 with the win.
Gabriel Machado netted four goals and added an assist for a nine-point evening in the win.
Lucas Nishioka dished out five assists and scored a goal of his own.
Carlos Rodriguez tallied three goals, while
Jorge Figueroa scored one.
Lovensky Pierre,
Mateus Candido,
Thomas Roth and
Tsihoarana Rabestsimialona all scored in the second half.
Javier Rodriguez,
Rajohn Hazel Hawkesworth, Akindeinde and Rabestsimialona all added assists. Goalkeeper
David de la Hera improves to 4-0-1 with the shutout victory.
The Mustangs return to action on Saturday, Oct. 7, when they host No. 19 CCBC-Essex at City Park. The game is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, will have six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning in the fall of 2017.
