Florence, S.C. – The Monroe College Baseball team fell to Florence-Darlington Technical College, 8-0, in the opening round of the double-elimination District Championship tournament. The Mustangs did not get a hit over the course of the game.
Carlos Torres was the only base runner for the Mustangs, reaching on a walk in the fourth inning.

Michael Crispino got the start. He allowed just three earned runs and fanned five in his 4.2 innings of work. Reliever
Jason Alvarez pitched well, tossing 2.1 innings of scoreless baseball. He didn't figure in the decision.
The team is now 23-24 overall on the year and is still in contention for the District Championship. The Mustangs will now move into the consolation bracket and face Harford Community College at 3:30 PM on Friday, May 19th. The winner will advance, and the loser will be eliminated from the tournament.
