New Rochelle, N.Y. – The New York Knicks announced late yesterday that they had inked a two-year deal with former Monroe College
basketball standout Maurice Ndour. The first year of the contract is guaranteed.
Ndour played for Monroe from 2011-2013, and then competed for Ohio University for two years. While playing with the Mustangs, the Senegal native was a two-time NJCAA All-Region selection, averaging 16.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks as a sophomore in 2012-13. He finished his college career with 848 points and was also recognized for his language skills
in this profile with the YES network.
Following his time at Ohio University, Ndour played in the NBA Summer League with the Knicks and ultimately signed with the Dallas Mavericks before being released early due to an injury. He played most recently in Europe with Real Madrid in the Spanish league.
"I feel blessed," Ndour told Monroe College. "I look forward to the opportunity to play with a team that I was first involved with. I know a lot of people were waiting for me to come back to the Knicks, since they were first interested in me."
