New Rochelle, N.Y. – The Monroe College Women's Basketball team fell to Harford Community College, 82-66, on Tuesday. Three Mustangs reached double figures in scoring.
Cristina Soriano led the way with 19 points on 9-15 shooting.
Aneisha Lyons came off the bench to score 15 points, and
Camilla Kilinc added 12.
Monroe took the early lead, getting baskets from Soriano and
Fatoumata Coulibaly. The largest lead for the Mustangs came at 7:25 in the first quarter on a bucket from Kilinc that made the score 8-3. The Fighting Owls took the lead later in the quarter and did not relinquish it for the rest of the game.
Monroe trailed by as many as 19 points, but rallied late when a Lyons three-pointer pulled them within seven, at 66-59, with 6:46 remaining. Harford pushed the lead back to double-digits and went on to win, 82-66.
With the loss, the team is now 7-4 on the year. The Monroe College Women's Basketball team will return to action on Thursday, December 8th, hosting Orange County College at 6:00 PM.
