Bronx, N.Y. – The Monroe College Women's Basketball team defeated neighboring host Hostos Community College, 77-63, in an away game on Tuesday. Four Mustangs finished the game in double figures.
Shania Johnson was once again the offensive leader for Monroe, finishing with a game-high 22 points in the win.
Camilla Kilinc reached 19 points and made seven of eleven shots from the field.
Cristina Soriano posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. For the second straight contest,
Aneisha Lyons came off the bench to chip in with double figures, totaling a dozen points.
Monroe had a big first half, leading by 10 points (23-13) after a quarter and 17 points after the first half. The lead got as high as 21 points en route to the win.
The Mustangs are now 3-0 with the victory. The team will return to action on Wednesday, November 16th, in an away game against Union County College.
