Jonathan Avila enters his second season with the Monroe Mustangs JV and men's soccer team, and his first with the Mustangs women's soccer team.
Avila joined the Monroe College men's soccer coaching staff prior to the 2017 season as an assistant coach for the varsity men's soccer program, as well as the head coach of the junior varsity men's soccer team.
Avila played for the Mustangs in 2012 and 2014, playing in 17 games across two seasons. He was part of the 2012 Region XV Championship team in 2012, and contributed to a National Runner-Up finish in 2014.
Avila was a member of the New York Cosmos Academy 16u and 18u clubs prior to his time playing at Monroe.
Avila graduated from Monroe College in April 2016 with a bachelor of business administration in business management. He is a native of Cuenca, Ecuador.
