New Rochelle, NY – Sophomore
Flavia Pecora of the Monroe women's volleyball team and sophomore
Braxton Richards of the Monroe men's soccer team have been named this week's Mustangs of the Week.
Pecora recorded 25 kills over the three-game weekend, but what stood out for the second-year middle blocker was her efficiency. The Italy native committed zero errors on the attack to register an astounding 74.5% kill percentage.
In 2024, Pecora garnered a 42.3 kill percentage, which slots her into second on the program's single season leaderboard. Currently, she has a 44.7 percentage, which would be the best mark in program history, surpassing Manon Braunsteffer's ('22) mark of 44.1 percent.
Richards was the catalyst for a Mustangs squad that picked up two marquee victories over Miami Dade College and No. 11 Montgomery College — both offensively and defensively.
Not only did Richards log 90 minutes in both outings, but he recorded a point in both contests as well. The Florida native scored a goal and an assist against Miami Dade before delivering a highlight reel level assist in the 3-1 win over the Raptors.
