New Rochelle, NY- On the biggest stage of the season, the Monroe Mustangs delivered another dominant performance. The Mustangs exploded for seven goals and controlled every inch of the East District Championship Final, rolling past Harford Community College, 7–0, to officially punch their ticket to the NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer National Tournament in Enid, Oklahoma.
From the opening whistle, Monroe played like a team determined to leave no doubt. It took less than five minutes for the breakthrough: Wiktoria Mikrut buried the opening goal at 4:51 off a setup from Maiko Kikuchi, setting the tone for a relentless 90 minutes. The pressure never let up. At 13:11, Sara Dakdouka doubled the lead thanks to a feed from Julia Migacz, and just before halftime Leni Fohrer cracked in Monroe's third to give the Mustangs total control heading into the break.
Monroe came out of halftime even sharper. Mikrut struck again just 48 seconds into the second half, scoring her second of the match on another assist from Migacz. Less than two minutes later, Kikuchi made it 5-0, this time Mikrut returning the favor with an assist as Monroe's attack continued slicing through Harford's back line with ease.
Dakdouka tallied her second of the game in the 51st minute, and Kikuchi added her own brace with a 77th-minute strike, again assisted by Mikrut, who finished the afternoon with two goals and two assists in one of her best performances of the season.
While the offense showcased its quality, the Mustangs' defense was just as impressive. Monroe held Harford to only three total shots, with goalkeeper Magdalena Syrek turning away every chance to secure the clean sheet. Monroe outshot Harford 23–3 and generated five corner kicks while allowing just one.
The victory caps an undefeated run through the district and sends the Mustangs to Enid with momentum in hand. Monroe improves to 11-0-1 and now prepares to compete for a National Championship against the country's best.
