The Monroe Mustangs showed off their depth in a nifty defeat of Bunker Hill at City Park Saturday evening. Monroe had six scorers find the net in the 5-0 shutout win. It was the 7-2 Mustangs sixth-straight as they look to close out the regular season strong.
"We started slow this season," said Coach Marcus Dibernardo. "It took us a little bit for us to show how good we can be. But we're starting to hit our stride now and all the boys are into it. Good vibes. And I think the good times are till ahead."
Monroe launched an unsurmountable 5-0 barrage in the first half with goals by
Kalifa Sylla,
Khadim Seye,
Yankuba Janneh,
Mamadou Balde,
Michael Henry. Sylla leads Monroe in goals with five.
Coach 'D' used his bench extensively and in the second half
Diego Bacellar got Monroe's sixth goal.
