Karim Belmahdi had another terrific weekend for the Mustangs at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Belmahdi's big highlight was setting a new Monroe College indoor 3,000-meter run record on Saturday, running a time of 8:11.42 for the new fastest time in program history. This is also the second fastest time in the NJCAA this season. In addition, Belmahdi ran the anchor leg of the men's distance medley relay that also set a new program record with a time of 9:50.52. In doing so, Belmahdi ran the fastest mile split in program history with a time of 4.06.74. Belmahdi also earned NJCAA Indoor Championship qualification in the 1,000-meter run event with a time of 2:23.65, currently the fifth fastest time in the NJCAA.
