Coach Neely has also assisted the varsity men's program throughout his tenure at Monroe, helping the team reach the NJCAA Div. I National Championship Tournament in 2015 and 2017. In five seasons, Neely has coached 19 JV student-athletes that moved on to NJCAA Div. I programs or four-year schools.

The Mustangs entered the American Independence Post Grad Conference in 2016-17. In the team's first season in the conference, three student-athletes were selected to the AIPGC All-Conference Team. The team won its first-ever AIPGC Championship Tournament game, and ultimately fell in the second round in a thrilling overtime contest against Our Saviour Lutheran.

Coach Neely specializes in developing fundamentals and techniques, which have been key in his time at Monroe and in his experiences prior to landing in New Rochelle. Through these programs, he has helped send countless athletes on to NCAA Division I programs. Coach Neely had most recently worked with the Riverbank Runnin' Rebels before coming to Monroe. Coach Neely was involved with the Long Island Lightning (EYBL) before Riverbank, and also worked with programs such as Hoop Group Elite, Crusaders Basketball Program and St. Charles Borromeo. He has also committed his time to numerous college camps and clinics.

Coach Neely’s basketball philosophy is summed up by the three C's: character, commitment and consistency:

"Commitment is key. When a player is committed, he will buy into  academics  and athletics within the culture of the program."

"Consistency in daily fundamentals and techniques will lead to a player developing an improved skill set."

"Character establishing core values and principles will help foster a committed and consistent person on and off the court."

Coach Neely is also a high school teacher at Archdiocese of New York. He earned a bachelor of arts in liberal arts from the College of New Rochelle. Coach Neely is also pursuing his master's in coaching and athletic administration.
