Francis Santos enters his 15th season with Monroe University Department of Athletics in 2025-26
Santos was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director-Events and Facilities in July 2022. In his current role, he oversees daily operations for all 20 athletic teams and manages the upkeep of on-campus facilities in addition to training and weight rooms. He helps carry over 220 events throughout the year, which led to Santos and the athletic department earning the Mickey Crowley Cup in 2025, which is awarded every year to the top institution in Region 15 for their ability to create a safe and healthy environment for student-athletes, coaches, fans and officials.
Santos served as the Director of Baseball Operations for the Monroe Mustangs baseball program from 2012-21, where he was coordinating team travel, equipment purchases and schedules as well as assisting with all aspects of game-day operations, game scouting reports and on-campus recruiting for the Monroe University baseball program.
Since 2011, Santos has also served as the Facilities Manager and Events Game Day Operation for Monroe University Athletics, facility setups and breakdown for game day operations. In additional, overseeing daily operations and management, coordinating team plans, Internal and External scheduling and practices as well as supervising all the sports practices and competition. During his role at Monroe University, he continues to oversee Monroe University Athletics Operations. In addition to helping coordinate all home contest, he serves as the primary game day supervisor for football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball and softball
Santos began his coaching career with Monroe in 2009-2021 as an Assistant and First Base Coach, specializing in defense. In 2018, Santos was part of the Mustangs first-ever Eastern District Championship, as well as their first-ever appearance to the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado. In 2019, the Mustangs repeated as Eastern District Champions and made it back to the Junior College World Series for the second straight season. In additional to five Region XV titles with the Mustangs
Prior to joining Monroe, Santos coached at Pro Swing Baseball during the summers of 2008, 2009 and 2010, helping assesses players skills and self-esteem, monitors players work ethic during competition and practices and keep the parents informed of their children’s athletic performance.
Santos graduated from Briarcliff College in Long Island, N.Y. with a BS in Information Technology, where he was three-time, first-team All-American shortstop for the Seahawks. In 2006, he helped the Seahawks to a USCAA national championship.
A New York City native, Santos attended the High School of Graphic Communication Arts where he broke many school records and was a four-time All-City baseball player. Santos also helped the 49ers to three division championships from 2002 to 2004.
Santos is a member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA).
