New Rochelle, NY – In consecutive seasons, Monroe University has led NJCAA Region 15 in Academic All-Region Team honorees with 155 student-athletes being selected to the 2024-25 list, the region announced on Monday.
This comes a year after 172 student-athletes achieved the distinction and a few weeks following the NJCAA All-Academic release, where 116 Monroe student-athletes achieved the required qualifications to be selected.
With the Academic All-Region Team, student-athletes had to achieve
at least a 3.25 GPA out of a 4.0 scale and earned 24 credits or more during the 2024-25 academic year.
Of the 536 student-athletes selected across Region 15, the Mustangs led the way with nearly 29 percent of the total number of recipients. The football team garnered the most number of selections out of all teams with 26 honorees.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
