NJCAA Honors 116 Student-Athletes In 2024-25 All-Academic Team Release

Charlotte, NC – A year after setting a new school record and surpassing 100 student-athletes on the list for the first time ever, 116 student-athletes were named to the 2024-25 NJCAA All-Academic Team on Thursday.

The Mustangs continue to excel both in athletic competition and academic excellence as the 2022-23 record of 93 has been firmly usurped twice over the past two years. After a record-setting 119 student-athletes qualified for the NJCAA's prestigious list last year, this year's count of 116 student-athletes signifies the academic consistency within Monroe.

Student-athletes qualify for the NJCAA All-Academic Team by accumulating a grade-point average of 3.6 or higher for the 2023-24 academic year.

Men's soccer was once again the top program for the Mustangs with 26 student-athletes selected. Women's soccer followed with 16, with baseball (13), softball (13) and men's basketball (11) rounding out the top five. Cross country/track and field combined for 18 selections across the men's and women's teams, with the men adding ten student-athletes to the list while the women had eight members selected.

Twenty-three Mustangs earned a 4.0 GPA in 2024-25, earning their selection to the first team. This year's first team tally fell three shy of tying the record of 26 from last year. The second team had 51 honorees, while the third team was home to 42 student-athletes.

NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.0 GPA
NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA
