Anthony Fernandez Named NJCAA Division I All-American Honorable Mention

Charlotte, NC – Sophomore outfielder Anthony Fernandez of the Monroe University baseball team earned NJCAA Division I All-American honors as an honorable mention, the NJCAA announced on Thursday.

Fernandez continued the lineage of Monroe All-Americans, marking the seventh consecutive season in which a Mustang was named to the prestigious list. It comes after a remarkable sophomore campaign for Monroe's everyday right fielder.

The Rhode Island native batted .345 on the year with a 1.012 OPS. Across 168 at-bats, Fernandez drove in 42 runs on 15 doubles and four home runs. Fernandez also joined elite company in Monroe baseball lore, achieving his 100th career hit on April 27 against Potomac State.

Fernandez had an all-around season in 2025, but really turned it on over the final two weekends of the campaign, batting .433 with three home runs and 11 RBIs across the team's last eight contests.
