Katherine Bean-Rosario Earns Third Team All-American Status

Charlotte, NC – Freshman Katherine Bean-Rosario of the Monroe University women's soccer team was named Third Team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association, the organization announced Tuesday.

Bean-Rosario burst onto the scene in her debut season with the Mustangs, leading the team with 14 goals. She accumulated four assists as well, making for a 32-point debut season in New Rochelle.

The Bermuda native scored multiple goals on four separate occasions throughout the 2024 campaign. Included in that grouping of matches was a two goal, three assist game against Mohawk Valley Community College on August 31.

Bean-Rosario ended the season on a five-game goal streak. She scored the second goal of Monroe's 3-0 win over Harcum in the first round of the East District Tournament before netting the opening goal of the semifinal round against Monroe Community College.

Overall, Bean-Rosario put together a .667 shot on-goal percentage on 56 shots.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 28 teams competing across nine sports. There are 20 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
