Brailyn Cruz stepped up and delivered a season-best performance in Saturday's East District Championship Game 2 against No. 6 Florence-Darlington. Cruz tossed a complete-game shutout against the Stingers. He allowed just four hits while striking out a season-high 13 batters to even the best-of-three series with a 3-0 win after the Mustangs lost by a score of 2-1 in Saturday's first game. Saturday's win was actually Cruz's second of the week, as he also picked up the victory in Monday's Region 20 Championship at Harford Community College.
